COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) customers checked out 136,028 items last week, surpassing CML’s Checkout Challenge goal of 100,000 checkouts during National Library Week: April 4-10.
The promotion offered CML customers who checked out one item or more the chance to win a $100 Kroger gift card. One winner from each of CML’s 23 locations will be drawn at random and notified this week. All borrowers were also automatically entered into a grand prize drawing to win four tickets to see the Columbus Blue Jackets play at Nationwide Arena. One winner will be drawn at random and notified this week.
“We challenged our customers to help us celebrate by checking out 100,000 items, and they responded in a big way,” said CML Chief Community Engagement Officer Donna Zuiderweg. “We are so grateful to them for their continued support.”
