COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) is partnering with the Greater Columbus Sports Commission ahead of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, which will take place Jan. 22-28 in Columbus for the first time ever. America’s biggest skating stars will compete at Nationwide Arena for the chance to represent Team USA in international competitions.

Before then, library customers can visit any of CML’s 23 locations and enter for a chance to win a family four-pack of tickets to the Junior Rhythm Dance competition on Jan. 23 at 6:25 p.m. Deadline to enter is 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Winners will be notified on Jan. 17. CML employees and their immediate families are not eligible.

Additionally, figure skating legends Gracie Gold (Friday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m.) and Nancy Kerrigan (Saturday, Jan. 27 at 11:30 a.m.) will speak about their books at Main Library. Click the links above for free tickets.

At Main Library, customers can discover special book displays and artifacts from some of America’s greatest skaters, including Carol Heiss and Alysa Liu. Also at Main Library, younger customers can enjoy a slip-n-slide sock skating rink. More information can be found here.

Tickets to the U.S. Figure Skating Championships start at $20 and can be purchased at columbussports.org/skate.
