If you can’t find what you’re looking for in our catalog, try SearchOhio and OhioLINK.

These catalogs give you access to millions of additional items to request and have delivered to any Columbus Metropolitan Library location – all at no cost to you. Simply use your library card to make requests and check out items.

SearchOhio contains items from public libraries across Ohio; OhioLINK features materials from Ohio’s college and university libraries.

You can request print materials, audiobooks, music, movies and other formats. You’ll be notified (if you receive email notifications) if your request can’t be fulfilled.

How long will it be until I receive my requested materials?

Most materials will arrive within a week, but it depends on the availability of the items (if they are checked in and can be processed for delivery). You’ll be notified when they arrive just like when you request items through our catalog; you’ll find them on the same shelf with your other reserves.

Return items to any Columbus Metropolitan Library location or any of our CLC partner libraries.

Yes. SearchOhio and OhioLINK items may have different loan periods, renewal limits, daily fine rates and replacement costs than other items checked out from Columbus Metropolitan Library.

SearchOhio Borrowing Policies

Loan Periods and Renewals

  • Print materials, audiobooks and music: 21 days
  • Movies: 7 days
  • Items can be renewed up to 3 times; items will renew automatically if there are no requests for them.
  • We’ll hold SearchOhio requested items at your pick-up location for 10 days. If you don’t pick them up within that time, they will be returned to the library that owns them.

Fees

  • Replacement fee for unreturned materials: $25 per item (charged when the item is 35 days or more overdue)

OhioLINK Borrowing Policies

Loan Periods and Renewals

  • Print materials, audiobooks and music: 21 days
  • Movies: 7 days
  • Print materials, audiobooks and music can be renewed up to 6 times; movies can be renewed up to 3 times. Items will renew automatically if there are no requests for them.
  • We’ll hold OhioLINK requested items at your pick-up location for 10 days. If you don’t pick them up within that time, they will be returned to the library that owns them.

Fees

  • Replacement fee for unreturned materials: $125 per item (charged when item is 35 days or more overdue)
