COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) has partnered with the Franklin County Board of Elections to increase voter awareness and engagement ahead of the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 5. In addition to providing information and resources, CML will host several events to further inform and engage voters:

  • National Voter Registration Day | Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 3:30-6:30 p.m.
Volunteers from the League of Women Voters, the Human Services Chamber of Franklin County and other community organizations will be available at all 23 CML locations to help voters register, answer election questions and more.
  • Nonprofit Resources and Voter Registration Fair at Main Library | Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
That same day, voters are invited to stop by Main Library (96 S. Grant Ave.) to connect with nonprofits, including CelebrateOne, LifeCare Alliance, Equitas Health and more.
  • State Issue 1 Media Panel | Thursday, Oct. 10 from 7-8 p.m.
Voters are invited to Main Library (96 S. Grant Ave.) for a discussion about how Issue 1 would impact Ohio’s congressional districts. Click here to register for this free event with moderator Amelia Robinson (Columbus Dispatch) and panelists Jessie Balmert (USA TODAY), Natalie Fahmy (NBC4) and Darrel Rowland (ABC 6/Fox 28).

CML is also working to promote voter registration, early voting and voting on Election Day through strategic messaging in its marketing and communications channels. If customers are unable to attend any of the programs above, staff at all 23 locations are available to assist them.

Columbus Metropolitan Library has served the people of Franklin County, Ohio since 1873. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML is well known for signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. The library’s Strategic Plan supports the vision of “a thriving community where wisdom prevails,” which positions CML to respond to areas of urgent need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.
