COLUMBUS—Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) will celebrate Native American Heritage Month throughout November. CML staff offer book picks for readers of all ages and all CML locations will also put books by Native American authors on special display. All CML locations will also offer a Native American Heritage Month Discovery Quest, an activity that invites customers aged 7 and older to find books by and about Native Americans.

Additionally, on Saturday, Nov. 9, CML’s Local History & Genealogy team will host History & Genealogy Day at Main Library. This daylong event will feature special guest Chief Glenna Wallace, the first female chief of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. Click here to register and to view the full schedule.

Columbus Metropolitan Library has served the people of Franklin County, Ohio since 1873. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML is well known for signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. The library’s Strategic Plan supports the vision of “a thriving community where wisdom prevails,” which positions CML to respond to areas of urgent need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.
